IBEW "YOUTH TRANSITION TO WORK" PROGRAM
Are you a high school junior or senior and considering a possible career
in the Electrical Industry? How would you like to become part of a team comprised of the best trained, most skilled and most productive workers in the Electrical Industry? If this sounds good to you, then listen up because the “Youth Transition To Work” (YTTW) program could be just the thing for you!
The state of New Jersey recognizes that there is going to be a severe shortage of skilled trades’ people to meet the demands of our growing communities. IBEW Local 164 has partnered with several High Schools and Technical schools in an attempt to bring an awareness of the vast career opportunities that exist in the ever changing Electrical Industry to today’s youth.
The “YTTW” program is very simple to join and it offers those participants a look into what the benefits are to becoming a member of an organization that continues to remain the leader in the Electrical Industry. Among the many benefits of becoming a member of this program are guided tours of our 35,000 square foot Training Center in Paramus, N.J., hands on lab or classroom activities while at our Training Center and interaction with both members and faculty of Local 164 who will answer any questions you may have.
How to Sign Up High school juniors and seniors should first inquire with their guidance counselors whether an Electrical course is available at their present school. If not, they can inquire with one of the following YTTW partners:
