IBEW LOCAL 164 - WELCOME, MEMBER

The Joint Boards of Local Union #164 was established to administer the pensions, annuities, and health benefits you receive as a member of this chapter of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

The Joint Boards currently administers a variety of benefits, as explained in the following documents:

  • The Joint Welfare Fund documents are your primary source for information about health, disability and death benefits for current and retired members. It also contains information regarding prescription drug coverage; optical, dental and other specialized coverages; an overview of the claims process; and information about coverage you may be eligible for under COBRA.
  • The Joint Pension Fund documents provide information about your retirement benefits ... from basic outlines and overviews of eligibility requirements to vesting, to instructions on how to apply for a pension.
  • In some cases, certain employers are required to make contributions to your benefits plans through collective bargaining agreements the Union has negotiated on your behalf. The Joint Annuity Fund documents outline your access to these benefits, including vesting, administrative information, how to apply for benefits and other important information.
  • In each case, the primary objective of the Joint Boards Trustees and staff are to provide you with the best possible benefits plans ... plans that are responsive to the needs of you and your family! Plan documents for each of the above benefits plans are available via the above links. Please!!! ... we urge you to read this information carefully so you may become thoroughly familiar with all the benefits available to you.

There are several other pages in the Members only section. As with other sections of the Website, we've published answers to a variety of Frequently Asked Questions about your benefits, their administration, and other items. (Please be sure to read the Plan documents themselves, though ... the FAQ section is meant to answer only basic questions you may have about these benefits.) Additionally, on the Forms Download page, we have several documents available for members to take directly off the Website.

We hope you find all the information you need at our Website ... but if you don't see what you're looking for, feel free to
